Summary
Birds with arms (sometimes referred to as birds with hands) is a rather self-explanatory meme. Simply put, they're pictures of birds, but Photoshopped with human arms, or simply hands, to match or fit what situation they're in.
Origins
The first known surge of shops of pictures of birds with arms appeared on Reeelapse in August 11th, 2008. Since then, they started trending on Something Awful, and threads on the matter were as common there as you laugh, you lose threads were on 4chan. Speaking of 4chan, they were also quite the craze there too. Though many consider this a Something Awful meme.
Current status
Birds. With arms. The possibilities are endless. Still a strong thread on 4chan.
