Summary
Justin Bieber is a 17-year-old Canadian singer who joined the ranks of people who got famous off YouTube in 2008. He's something of a one-man boy band, complete with generic pop music and rabid fans ready to savage anyone mentioning one bad thing about their precious pipedream. On the Internet, most of his fans are 12 year old girls, and his haters are 13 year old boys. There are a lot of 13 year old boys on the internet. That can explain the reason why he may have over 1,000,000 dislikes on the music video, "Baby". He is talked about a lot on sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Many trolls criticize stuff like "his singing sucks" or "he looks 12". Even the most famous internet photo of him is a photoshopped picture of a girl with Justin Bieber's head sticked on the body, but Justin doesn't show any butthurt feeling for some reason. He got famous off the internet and most likely can stay famous if he doesn't let criticism interfere with his confidence.
He has garnered a staggering following on Twitter, falling just short of Lady Gaga in follower count (Justin has 8.9 million).
Origins
Born in Ontario, Canada in 1994, he taught himself to play guitar, drums, piano, and trumpet. By the age of 12 he'd won second place in a local singing competition, which was videotaped and became the first of the YouTube postings that eventually made him famous.
Rise to fame
Spotted on YouTube in 2008 by Scooter Braun and brought to the attention of producer L.A. Reid via Usher, Justin was offered a contract and soon rocketed to pop-star status with his two-part debut album, My World and My World 2.0.
Current status
Never Say Never, his 3-D motion picture is currently crushing the box office and he is just shy of 8 million twitter followers.
