Summary
Why.jpg is a reaction face of an image of Tony Kornheiser with a caption saying "WHY" underneath, used when dealing with situations or posts that cause one a feeling of indignation.
Origins
The original image came from an image snapped from a low quality cellphone camera of Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon on ESPN discussing as to why the Indianapolis Colts gave up. There was a caption at the bottom of the screen saying "WHY DID THE COLTS GIVE UP?".
As for the reaction face, that first appeared on /sp/ in 2009.
Current status
While the image originated on /sp/, it began to spread all over 4chan, especially on boards such as /v/.
